A personal vision is
an important step in any creative process. When it comes to setting our own
personal goals, it is essential because it allows for alignment. What I mean by
alignment is after the visioning process you know what is most important to you
and you can go ahead and create a vision statement for your life. Once you have
the vision you can easily see whether a goal is aligned to that vision or not.
If it is not aligned go ahead and cross it out because it is really unlikely
that you will accomplish it.
So how do we do
visioning – visioning is an internal process. So you must quieten you mind and
get into a meditative state – ask yourself what is most important to me at this
time? What is it I really love doing and who in fact loves me etc. Do not be
judgmental and see what comes up. Write down anything that comes up and then
when your session is finished review what you have written and again see how
you feel about it.
You are really trying to find messages and echoes of from your
imagination, which is why getting into a meditative state is so important. Once
you have these envisioned thoughts you can create your own vision statement and
from that goal setting is not only aligned but also much easier.
